“Painting is purely a means of self-presentation.”So says Hong Kong-based Norris Yim, whose abstract portraits depict more than just a face, but speak on societal issues as a whole. Old faces are replaced by new ones to survive, and the original appearance is skewed completely to forget the self. Through his work, Norris is able to transform his internalized observation of those around him, creating a form of self-expression “often tinged with loneliness.
